Think of mastering as the polish on the mixing process that optimizes playback quality on all devices — from tiny iPhone speakers to massive dance club sound systems. Mastering bridges the gap between artist and consumer. The master copy of a song can then be distributed on multiple formats like vinyl, CD’s or Tape, and streaming services like Spotify, iTunes and SoundCloud.
Additionally, mastering allows the engineer to remove any hisses, clicks or small mistakes missed in the final mixing stage.
Mastering also ensures uniformity and consistency of sound between multiple tracks on an album. Ultimately, what mastering does is create a clean and cohesive feel across all your audio.
This refers to the process of putting multiple layers of vocals, instruments or other audio together to make one final track or to musically modify an existing track. You’re adjusting basically everything you recorded when you mix a song. You’ll do things like drop in effects, adjust fader, and EQ your tracks to ensure they all are going to work as a song.
For very best results, be sure to separate each instrument—such as kicks, snares, and synths—and vocals, such as lead and background vocals, into individual audio files or tracks, so that we can refine the details of each one. Your FGC mixes will include the final audio mix and instrumental mix. We are able to provide additional mix stems at prorated studio rates. Just let us know what you need
In addition to our tracking, mixing, and mastering services, FGC Studios also provides various added services to meet your every need. If you are looking for something that is not on the list, let us know! We may be able to help or know someone who can!
